This course matches the basics of generic project managment to organizational KM requirements with attention to the overall process including goal definition, planning the work required to achieve the goal, oversight of the total project and the role of support teams, monitoring and measurement, and, as required, bringing the project to closure when completed or truncated. Topics covered include:
- an overview of standard tools, techniques, and strategies for project management
- project scope determination
- project impact on knowledge management/knowledge services delivery in the workplace
- resource identification and the development and utilization of support teams
- the one-time focus (as opposed to "on-going" projects)
