SLA and Click U are offering a series of four fast-paced online sessions to help you learn about and use SLA's wikis.
Introduction to Wikis (Wikis 101) - This session defines a wiki, explores wiki terminology, and presents information on how to navigate and explore the dashboard, spaces and space features, breadcrumbs, and "my" personal space.
Participating in Virtual Communities (Wikis 102) - This session reviews and builds upon the information presented in Wikis 101. Featured topics include the following: navigation (dashboard, spaces, breadcrumbs, space features); creating content (pages, formatting, tables, adding links and images, wysiwyg editor vs. wiki markup language, templates, developing folksonomies with labels); additional space features; statistics/usage; and security.
Developing Your Site for Success (Wikis 201) - This presentation will build upon the information presented in the Wikis 101 and 102 sessions. Featured topics include the following: extending your wiki by creating your own templates; reformatting and organizing your wiki to include plug-ins such as the table of contents; RSS feeds; and page navigation. The session will also include a discussion on planning and organizing wikis as well as a review of a handful of SLA's wikis again to help determine the focus for your site. Participants will be encouraged to contribute learned outcomes from SLA's Wikis 102.
Playing in the Sandbox (Wikis 202) - This last Webinar offers a recap of information presented during the previous sessions. Session information will be determined by polling participants who have participated in previous sessions. There will be opportunities for sharing created wikis. Come play in the wiki sandbox!
