Registration materials for the SLA 2009 Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO will not be mailed to attendees this year.
As part of the effort to continue SLA's greening initiatives, we are saving lots of waste by not mailing registration materials ahead of time. When you register, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. That confirmation has a bar code on it that is unique to your registration. Bring that confirmation with you to the Registration Center at conference, and you will quickly go through our new scan and go system!
Also, new this year, we will not be distributing Expocards for you to use in the INFO-EXPO. Your badge will contain a bar code that exhibitors can scan if you wish to share your information with them.

I think this is great! It saves a lot of paper, plastic, and mailing and packaging costs. I had to look through my registration confirmation, but found the bar code page. Sounds like the registration lines should move quickly with this system as well.

Great idea! Last year I forgot all of my conference materials. The barcode printed on my badge has worked just fine.
